Our heritage

Between 2013 and 2014 Società Reale Mutua di Assicurazioni supported the overall reorganization of the company Historical Archive.

The documentary collection, showing old papers and ledgers since the first years of activity of the Company, consists of about 167 linear metres with more than 10,000 archival units, datable between 1827 and 2012. More than 1,500 registers, 7,000 drawings and plans and hundreds of photographs tell the story of the Company’s centenarian history.

A heritage of such importance that it was declared of considerable historical interest by the Archive Superintendence for Piedmont and the Aosta Valley in July 2015.

The digitalisation of the Reale Mutua Historical Archive

Since January 2021, the most significant documents have been digitised in response to the need to preserve the Company's archival heritage, which, being stored entirely on paper, requires constant care and attention to prevent deterioration.

Within the website, which is fully accessible, scholars, researchers and curious visitors can carry out searches by year and keyword, accessing documents, registers, policies and photographs useful for their research purposes.

The digitisation of the company's archival heritage is therefore a further example of the desire of the Reale Mutua Museum and Historical Archive to develop a virtual experience that is not a substitute for, but rather a complement to, the physical experience of the two entities.
