Nicoletta Bortolotti for the Notte degli Archivi at Palazzo Biandrate

On Friday 9 June, the courtyard of the Reale Mutua Historical Museum will host writer Nicoletta Bortolotti for a reading of "Il Maestro e un Margarita" (i.e. "The Master and a Margarita"), the story written and published for the Notte degli Archivi (i.e. Night of the Archives), the opening night of the Archivissima festival.

Of Swiss origin and Milanese adoption, with her book "Un giorno e una donna - Vita e passioni di Christine de Pizan" (Harper Collins), Nicoletta is participating in the 2023 edition of the Strega Prize. During a visit to the Reale Mutua Museum and Historical Archives, her fervid imagination was not slow in coming: 'The inspiration for the little book, unlike usual,' says the writer, 'came immediately'. It is from this journey that "Il Maestro e un Margarita" was born, a detective story woven into the lives of an insurance woman and an enigmatic future member.

We look forward to seeing you on Friday 9 June at 7.30 p.m. and 9.30 p.m. in Via Garibaldi 22 and live streaming on Facebook. For a more complete experience, it will be possible to visit both the Historical Museum and the Sale Auliche from 15:00 and for the duration of the event.

The event is totally free of charge on reservation, subject to availability. For info and bookings, write to museostorico@realemutua.it or call 011.431 23 20
