ArtSite 2022: 'The Long Journey' by Chen Li
For the eighth edition of ArtSite 2022, the Reale Mutua Historical Museum will open on 4 October at 5.30 p.m. 'The Long Journey', the free exhibition by artist and calligrapher Chen Li who explores manual technique to tell ancient stories and bring them to life in the present.
A series of large canvases and a site-specific installation through which Chen Li tells us about the importance of small gestures, manual skills, and the rediscovered pleasure of everyday life. The setting for the installation will be the cloister of Palazzo Biandrate, already the location for Art Site Fest of the exhibition dedicated to Kintsugi: the link between the work of art and its location is renewed again this year in the skilful art of mending the distances between past and present.
Art Site Fest is a festival dedicated to contemporary arts in dialogue with places of history and business. Art, theatre, dance and music take shape in historical residences, royal residences, museums, courtyards, churches, in work and production spaces. Its eighth edition, dedicated to 'storytelling', takes place from 12 September to 11 December 2022 in new vistas and old venues, with a dense succession of openings, performances, meetings and exhibitions.
