Archivissima, the festival dedicated to archival heritage
The press conference of Archivissima 2021, the festival dedicated to the promotion and enhancement of archival heritage, which will take place from 4th to 9th June and of which Reale Mutua is the official sponsor together with Iren and Museo Lavazza, will be held today, 20 May 2021 at 11.30 a.m. at the Polo del '900.
This year's theme is #generazioni (generations):
"What to save of what the generations before us have produced? What to produce again? How to establish a connection and, above all, how to generate new life from what we have decided to preserve?"
The 300 archives taking part in the Festival will answer these questions, acting as custodians of memory and bridges between eras and generations.
As every year, the key format will be La Notte degli Archivi, which will be held on 4 June in a hybrid form, in presence and on the web. The evening's programme will also include the writer Alessandro d'Avenia who, in liaison with Virginia Antonini from the Reale Mutua Historical Museum, will read his unpublished story "I custodi del fuoco".
Taking his cue from the origins of the Società Reale Mutua di Assicurazioni, founded to protect against fire, the writer will stimulate reflection on another type of fire: that of creative inspiration, which must be carefully guarded so that it does not go out and illuminate future generations.
The entire Archivissima programme will take place in a hybrid form: online and live at the Polo del '900, in via del Carmine in Turin.
There will be many appointments, including the exhibition PHYLUM | Generazioni d'archivio (PHYLUM | Archival Generations) which, through the involvement of various archival realities active on the territory, will represent different declinations of the concept of generation: family history, preservation of memory, creative potential and continuum through time.
The exhibition has also been realised thanks to the contribution of the Reale Mutua Historical Archive, the Intesa San Paolo Archive, the Iren Archive and the Lavazza Historical Archive.
